Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2025

Acceptance

By using Inbox you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.

Description of service

Inbox is a free, open-source, browser-based note-taking application. It runs entirely in your browser and stores data locally on your device. An optional Google Drive sync feature is available for personal backup.

Use of the service

You may use Inbox for any lawful personal or professional purpose. You agree not to use the app to store, transmit, or process any content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.

No warranty

Inbox is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the app. Because data is stored in your browser's localStorage, it can be lost if you clear your browser data. Always export or back up important information.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors of Inbox shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

Third-party services

The optional Google Drive integration is a third-party service governed by Google's Terms of Service. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of Google's services.

Intellectual property

Inbox is open-source software. The source code is available under its respective open-source licence. These terms do not grant you any rights beyond those provided by that licence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes take effect when published. The "last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith.
